What Was the VetLIVE Online Ask a Vet Service?

DISCLAIMER: DoggieDesigner is not affiliated with VetLIVE Online.

Today, we’re used to getting just about everything on-demand in the comfort of our homes, including medical attention for us and our pets. This wasn’t always the case though; it’s only been made possible in recent years thanks to the internet. Now, you can easily hop online and get professional medical help for you or your pet. But when VetLIVE Online Ask a Vet was created, getting the professional veterinarian help you needed wasn’t that simple. They had a great idea to make veterinary professionals more accessible to people without the need for bringing their sick animals to a facility.

What Was VetLIVE?

VetLIVE was a website you could go to that enabled you to ask questions of veterinary professionals to get real-time answers to your questions about your pet’s health. This made it quick and easy for anyone to get a professional’s opinion about whatever problems their pet was experiencing, without having to go through the hassle of an in-person vet visit.

You would type your question into the chat box along with some basic information about your pet. A veterinarian would then read your question and respond. After chatting back and forth so the vet could gather the relevant information, they would give a diagnosis. If they were unable to provide a diagnosis, then there would be no charge for the service.

What Happened to VetLIVE?

The VetLIVE website still exists, but it no longer appears to be operational. Even the group’s Facebook page has gone silent, with the last post being made in January of 2014. Neither the website nor the Facebook page gives any as to what might have happened to VetLIVE, but after digging a bit deeper, it seems that the Better Business Bureau website (BBB) might provide some insight.

In total, VetLIVE has 12 complaints against them with the BBB. Ten of these complaints are regarding a problem with the service, and it seems that past customers of this business are not too happy about the services they received. One person went as far as to call the website a fraud. Unfortunately, it appears that many of these users have had the same bad experience.

After scrolling through the BBB complaints, it becomes clear that these have all been rather recent. These posters all tell the same story of paying upfront to talk to a veterinary professional, only they never hear back from the company. All of them claim to have had their accounts charged, though none of them received the service that they paid for.

Even though VetLIVE seems to be a dead business, the website is still up. This leads to a problem. Most people are not aware when they visit the site that it’s no longer a running business. Believing the website is still functional, they go through the process of charging their card and starting a chat. This process is all automated, so after being charged and asking their question, they never hear back from a veterinary professional because there’s no one working the other end!

Conclusion

Even though the VetLIVE website is still up, there’s no business behind it anymore. You can still get on the page and go through the automated process, but if you do, you’ll lose your money and never get the professional help you’re hoping for. It’s unclear what happened to VetLive, but it’s clear that they’re no longer functioning as a business.
