As of October 1, 2021 — Fromm Family Foods is voluntarily recalling 5,500 cases of Fromm Shredded can Entrée dog food due to potentially elevated levels of Vitamin D.

Cause of This Dog Treat Recall

The affected products from Fromm Family Foods revealed elevated levels of Vitamin D. No reports of illness or injury have been reported from consumers to date

What You Need to Know About Vitamin D

Vitamin D when consumed at very high levels can lead to serious health issues in dogs. Dogs ingesting higher levels of Vitamin D than is recommended may start to show symptoms. These symptoms may include:

  • vomiting
  • loss of appetite
  • increased thirst
  • increased urination
  • excessive drooling
  • weight loss.

Where Was the Product Sold?

Recalled products were distributed at neighborhood pet stores across the country.

What to do Next

If you have purchased any of the Fromm canned dog foods, with the above-mentioned lot code, it is recommended by the FDA that you stop feeding the product to your dogs immediately.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled product can return the product back to their retailer.
