If you give a dog a treat for every time they looked cute, you’d be giving them treats all the time! Some of us have better restraint than others, and dog treats do have their purpose.
Whether you are training your dog with commands such as “sit” or “stay,” teaching them to go in and out of a doggy door, or just looking at them and rewarding them for being cute, you love giving out treats, and dogs love getting them.
Unfortunately, some of our canine pals have sensitive stomachs and have specific dietary needs. That’s where these reviews come in. We’ve done our digging to find the best treats for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Let’s take a look at what we’ve found!

The 10 Best Dog Treats for Sensitive Stomachs
1. ORIJEN Freeze-Dried Dog Treats — Best Overall
Orijen goes out of its way to make a simple dog treat but also to do so ethically. It should be noted that these treats are not specifically advertised as treats for dogs with sensitive stomachs, it just turns out that they are actually great for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Let’s talk about what makes these treats special.
First off, Orijen figured the best food for a dog should be simple. The company limits the number of ingredients in their treats and only use natural preservatives. Made with several types of protein, every flavor is absolutely packed with protein and nutrition. From duck to boar, your dog will be salivating over this treat!
Not only does this treat taste good, but it is also what a dog biologically needs. These treats are made with the whole of the animal being used, to mirror your dog catching their prey out in the wild. This includes meat, organs, cartilage, and bone. The treats are made from raw ingredients, further mimicking the wild.
Orijen gets their ingredients only from people and farmers that it knows and trusts. These treats are grain free, which is typically recommended for dogs with sensitive bellies. Orijen makes its treats at its DogStat kitchen in Kentucky.
A common user complaint is that these treats don’t hold together very well, so you might end up with a bunch of crumbs in your bag! We have a feeling that your pup won’t mind, though.
2. HILL’S Jerky Strips Dog Treats — Best Value
Hill’s has a good idea of what dogs like, and so it made dog treats made of beef! Made with 100% natural ingredients, your dog is sure to love these bite-sized treats.
These treats were developed by people who know dogs and nutrition. Expert nutritionists and veterinarians teamed up to come up with this recipe, so it is no wonder that these treats are not only veterinarian approved but also veterinarian recommended. Over 220 vets and nutritionists used their combined knowledge of canine biology so they could make a treat that is both good for your dog and predictive of their health. Hill dog treats can be used as tasty snacks and as health boosters!
While these treats contain plenty of meat to fill your pups with protein, they also contain fruits and veggies for other nutritional needs. Hill has made a treat that is a wonderful complement to the Science Diet. All the ingredients come from North America, and there are never any artificial colors or flavors.
Now that you know all the technical details, the real question is if pups like it. Turns out, they do! If there has been any gripes about this treat, it is that it doesn’t actually have the consistency of jerky. It’s more of a faux jerky. But dogs don’t mind much. We have no problem saying that these are the best dog treats for sensitive stomachs for the money.
Greenies are a cute-looking treat, but don’t let their appearance fool you! These treats are made to be easy to digest, but they are also wonderful for your pet’s oral health. Called “Dental Dog Treats,” they are packed with vitamins, minerals, and all sorts of other nutrients that are advantageous to your dog’s health, all while helping them keep that adorable smile nice and clean.
Greenies are made with a unique texture to help keep your pup’s gum line clean. Your dog won’t finish this treat in one bite, which is both economical for you and healthy for them. This treat is made to fight plaque and tartar while refreshing your dog’s breath. Accepted by the Veterinary Oral Health Council, this treat comes vet recommended (and dog approved!). Of course, these reviews are all about pups with sensitive tummies, and Greenies are great for that! Made with easy-to-digest ingredients, your pup can have a treat and keep on playing.
The only knock on Greenies is that because of the price and dental application, we wouldn’t necessarily recommend this as an everyday treat. This treat is wonderful for older dogs, however, who are affected much more by poor dental health.
4. Milk-Bone Soft & Chewy Dog Treats
One of the more prominent names in the world of dog treats, it’s no surprise that Milk-Bone shows up on this list of dog treats. These are the brand’s soft and chewy treats, known and loved by dogs the world over.
Your pup will be a tail-wagging machine when they sniff these treats. They are packed with chicken, giving your dog a good dose of protein. While they are enjoying the savory flavor, they will also be getting nutrients that will help keep them strong and active. These treats are loaded with calcium, folic acid, and vitamins A, D, and E and B12. Milk-Bone suggests adding one treat to every meal to help boost your dog’s protein level.
Because of how soft these treats are, they are wonderful for older dogs and dogs with sensitive teeth. They made without any wheat, so they are easier to digest, making them good for dogs with sensitive stomachs.
Some owners have reported being sent a stale batch, but these complaints are few and far between. Most dogs seem to love these, even picky dogs, so our guess is that yours will too.
Milk-Bone makes sure all their products are USDA tested.
5. Portland Pet Food Dog Treat Biscuits
Portland is always talking about staying weird, so you might be shocked at how normal these treats look! These treats pack a wallop of nutrition, however, and do it with a simple recipe. Made with simple and all-natural ingredients, you might be tempted to even have one yourself! While we wouldn’t recommend that, they are made from human-grade ingredients. There are three different flavors you can choose from: bacon, gingerbread, and pumpkin.
What does it mean to be all natural? It means that you won’t find any harmful chemicals or added preservatives in this offering from Portland Pet Foods. These doggy delights are free of GMOs, BHA, BHT, wheat, gluten, grains, or artificial colors. Also, the packaging is BPA free.

6. Wholesome Pride Potato Chews Dog Treats
We generally think that when it comes to dog treats, the simpler the recipe, the better. You can’t get much simpler than the recipe for Wholesome Pride dog treats. They are made with only one ingredient: sweet potatoes.
You may be wondering why you would buy bagged sweet potatoes when you could just make them yourself, but rest assured that Wholesome Pride has gone through the trouble that you might not otherwise want to. These are dehydrated sweet potatoes, meant to be used as a chew. Even if your dog does manage to woof one of these down, you won’t have to feel bad about giving them another because you know exactly what they’re eating.
The simplicity of the recipe means that these are wonderful for dogs with sensitive stomachs. There are no wheats, grains, or glutens. These treats are 100% vegan and fit into almost any diet. The added perks of the sweet potato’s nutrients is that they aid in coat, skin, eye, and muscle health.
The reason Wholesome Pride decided to make their snacks this way was that they wanted to make a dog snack that was affordable and sustainable to make. These potatoes come from local farms.
There are consistency issues with how well these treats are dehydrated. Sometimes they are hard and crunchy, and other times, they are wet and chewy.
7. Cloud Star Dynamo Dog Tummy Treats

These treats are also probiotic, helping to strengthen your dog’s digestive system. Cloud Star has made a treat loaded with fibers from pumpkin and ginger to keep your dog on schedule. You will never find any grain or wheat — which could stop your dog up — or corn or soybeans as fillers.

Some dogs have sensitive tummies
To help with this, you want to look for treats that are grain free and gluten free. This is not to be confused with allergies, however.
Some dogs have food allergies
Some dogs might not be allowed to eat certain meats or different types of proteins. If it seems that your dog has a sensitive stomach, you should take them to the vet to see if they have any allergies. This can make a huge difference in your dog’s life, comfort-wise. Your vet will be able to set up a diet that is perfect for your pup and tell you what treats to avoid.
We know that it can be difficult finding just the right treat for your best friend. We also know that it can be scary if you don’t know what to look for. We hope that these reviews have helped you, and your dog is now snacking better than ever before! So, what did you give them?
