A Quick Comparison of Our Favorites
The 10 Best Dog Shock Collars with Remote – Reviews 2020
1. Bousnic 320B Electric Shock Collar – Best Overall
Our first pick is the Bousnic 320B Electric Shock Collar. It is a safe and humane method of training your dog out of bad behavior. You have three customizable modes including the tone mode, vibration, or shock mode. There are also dual channels available for training two dogs at the same time.
The Bousnic comes with an adjustable collar between 8 and 26 inches and can be used on all breeds, sizes, and ages. You can also use this trainer indoors or outdoors with a 1,000-foot range. What’s more, the remote is easy to use with a backlit LED screen and an ergonomic handle. Additionally, the silicone prongs won’t injure your pet’s skin or fur.
This option is rechargeable via USB and is ready to use in two to three hours. Both the collar and remote will last for 15 to 20 days with regular use, as well. It is completely waterproof, and our favorite model for a dog shock collar.
2. Pet Union PT0Z1 Dog Training Shock Collar – Best Value
One deterrent of the shock collar is it can be pricey. The Pet Union PT0Z1 Dog Training Shock Collar is an affordable option that has a 1,200-foot range and is available in seven different colors. It is waterproof, durable, and easy to use. You also have four training modes to choose from. Pick either the light mode, tone/beep, vibration, or shock setting.
The collar is waterproof, so playtime at the beach will still give you control over your pooch. You also have an LCD screen to adjust the settings, plus there is a dual-training mode for keeping two-dogs in line at the same time. You can use the Pet Union for dogs between 10 and 100 pounds of all ages. The collar is also adjustable.
This option has a rechargeable battery and an auto-power protection mode when it’s not in use. One drawback of this model, however, is it takes longer for the battery to charge than our first option, although the charge lasts for a considerable amount of time. Other than that, the collar has a blue backlight, making it great for low-light training sessions. It’s easy to use, and in our opinion, the best dog shock collar for the money.
The SportDOG Brand 1425 E-Collar is a three-setting shock collar that can be set to either a beep, vibration, or static mode. The static option has 21 levels, so you can set it to the intensity you need. You can also choose from a steady static pulse or a “nick” mode that gives periodic pulses of the shock setting. This is a durable option that is easy to use.
Both the collar and remote are 100 percent waterproof, plus it can be submerged up to 25-feet. The collar is adjustable between 5 and 22 inches. You can use this on all dogs eight pounds or bigger at any age range, as well. If you have more than one pet, you will also be able to use the remote to control up to three collars.
One thing to note about this option is it’s more expensive than our first two picks. Also, though it has an LED screen, it’s not as easy to see at night. Besides that, you have a two-hour recharge time, and both the collar and the remote will last for many days without having to be powered up.
4. DOG CARE TC01 Dog Shock Collar
The DOG CARE TC01 Dog Shock Collar is our next pick that is a great option if you have several dogs that need some charm lessons all at once. This collar and remote duo have nine channels that you can use simultaneously. You also have a range of up to 1,000 feet, although it is not as effective after about 700 feet.
The collar has the customary tone, vibration, and shock settings you can make use of, plus you can set the shock strength between 0 and 99 depending on your dog. What’s more, it has a security keypad lock, so you won’t have to worry about accidental shocks when your pooch is well behaved. You should also note that the LED screen is easy to use, and the overall remote and collar are durable.
The DOG CARE collar is adjustable and can be used with dogs between 15 and 100 pounds. It’s waterproof and has a quick recharge time. One thing to consider, though, is the lifespan of the battery. The remote lasts up to 45 days without being recharged, however, the collar needs to be plugged in every 15 days, so it’s important to keep an eye on the collar.
5. PATPET 320 Dog Shock Collar
If you are looking for a simple to use obedience collar for your pet, the PATPET 320 Dog Shock Collar is a good option for you. This set comes with an ergonomic remote that has four easy to use buttons that control the shock mode, vibration mode, and a standard beeping sound. You can also adjust the shock setting up to 16 levels.
The PATPET is completely waterproof, and it can be used up to 1,000 feet away. You can use this with small, medium, and large breeds, though we do not recommend it for toy-sized dogs or very young pups. Besides that, it has an adjustable nylon collar that will fit necks up 27 inches in diameter. You can even sync two collars at the same time. It is important to note here that the collar/remote is not as durable as other options, however.
Something else to keep in mind is the lifespan of the battery. On the bright side, you can charge both the collar and remote at the same time, and it only takes a couple of hours for both to have full power. On the downside, the collar’s battery will last up to 56 days, while the remote will need to be recharged in less than a week. Caution is advised. Beyond those issues, you will have a backlit LED screen to make programming the tool easier.
6. Flittor DT102 Shock Collar
The Flittor DT102 Shock Collar is a 2,500-foot range training tool that can be used with the tone-setting, as well as, the vibration and shock modes. The two latter features can be adjusted between levels 1 and 100 to accommodate your dog’s size and personality. This option will fit most breeds, sizes, and ages, as well.
This collar is also water-resistant, but it should not be completely submerged. A rain shower is okay, but a swim could cause damage to the performance of the model. Besides that, it has an adjustable collar and three training channels and memory settings for controlling more than one pooch at a time. That being said, this remote is not as easy to operate or switch from mode to mode.
The Flittor recharges via USB. It takes longer than the advertised two to three hours, plus both the collar and remote only hold a charge for under a week before it has to be reset. On the other hand, the remote features an easy to read LCD. Finally, the buckle on the collar is not as secure as it should be, so it is in danger of falling off; Buyer beware.
7. Petrainer PETDBB-2 Shock Collar
The Petrainer PETDBB-2 Shock Collar is a USB rechargeable training tool that is ready to use within four to five hours and will last for more than a week. It has the standard three settings including the vibration mode, shock mode, and the tone feature. The tone only has one level, although you can set the other two between 1 and 100. What’s more, the silicone-covered prongs will not hurt your pet’s skin or coat.
This option is meant to be used up to 330 yards, however, it is not effective at that range. In this case, you are better off within a 100-yard radius. You should also consider that this option is not suited for extra large dogs, or those bigger canines with very thick fur as the prongs will not be able to penetrate through their coat. Besides that, the remote has an easy to see LCD light, but the overall construction is not durable.
The Petrainer is also not as waterproof as it claims, so swimming and other water activities are not recommended. The collar is adjustable from 6 to 25 inches and you can set up to seven collars with one remote. Nevertheless, pairing these many channels is difficult and makes the overall performance less effective.
On the brighter side, this option has a power-saving mode that keeps the battery from draining when it is not in use. The charge time is longer at about six to seven hours, but you will get a considerable run time once it has full power.
8. IPETS PET619S Rechargeable Dog Shock Collar
If you are looking for a customizable option, the IPETS PET619S Rechargeable Dog Shock Collar is a good way to go. This option can be used to train your dog with a beeping sound, vibration, or a light static shock. Both the vibration and static shock can be customized in the intensity to suit your dog’s needs. What’s more, you can recharge both the collar and remote at the same time.
The IPETS is a waterproof training tool that is good for dogs that like to swim. It has a dual training capacity, although it is not as easy to use even with the LCD. The buttons are also not user friendly. Unfortunately, you should also consider that the 900 feet range is a lot shorter, and it moves down to about 50-feet when being used for more than one collar a time.
This option is adjustable, but not durable. It is not recommended for large and aggressive dogs, as they will easily be able to get it off. On the other hand, it does have a quick charge time, but with a smaller window of use for both the remote and collar.
9. Petronics XMS112 Shock Training Collar
Our ninth option is the Petronics XMS112 Shock Training Collar. This option has four modes versus the customary three. You can not only take advantage of the tone, vibration, and shock options, but there is also a light on the collar. You can also set the vibration and shock feature anywhere from 1 to 100 depending on your pet’s training needs. Unfortunately, the tone and vibration are not effective.
The Petronics will send a signal up to 330 yards. It has an LCD, but the overall functions are not easy to program or use. In fact, this set is said to pair in less than ten seconds, although that is not the case. You should also note you can only use one color per remote, too.
The collar and remote are both water-resistant, but submerging them in water will cause the set to malfunction. The adjustable nylon collar is also not durable, and the clips come up snapped quickly and easily. We also want to note that this option is not recommended for extra-large or small canines.
10. FunniPets Dog Training Collar
Our final pick is the FunniPets Dog Training Collar. This is a set made for medium and large-sized dogs only. It can be used to emit sound, vibration, and a light shock – the last of which can be set between 1 and 100. That being said, the vibration and sound are too low to be effective at curbing bad behavior, yet the shock setting can be too harsh.
You should also consider that the 2,600-foot range is not accurate, and this set is hard to use and control. The adjustable collar is uncomfortable, and not durable. To be frank, the entire set is not heavy-duty and will break quickly. What’s worse, you will need to reposition the collar every hour to keep it from chafing your pet’s neck.
One positive feature of this training tool is it comes equipped with a light on the collar and reflective material. This will make your pup more visible at night. That being said, it is not waterproof, although it is advertised that way. Finally, the LED display is hard to read and it takes a long time to charge with a short battery life. Overall, the FunniPets is our least favorite option for a dog shock collar.

In actuality, these collars are an effective, safe, and humane way of curbing your pet’s worst behavior. Not only is it safe and effective, but it is a great tool for training your pet into happy obedience.
